Mathematics Teacher

The Mathematics Program

 

Notre Dame High School has a challenging college preparatory curriculum that integrates classroom learning with educational opportunities in STEM. Notre Dame educates over 630 students annually for success and leadership in a global society.

Mathematics is an integral part of the STEM education strand which works directly with the science and T.E.D. departments to foster connections that extend beyond the classroom.  The department actively seeks connections to social justice issues through cross-curricular coordination with the Social Studies, English and Religious Studies Departments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strong content knowledge in two of the areas: Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trigonometry/Precalculus curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching Statistics or Calculus is desired
  • Knowledge of the growth mindset model and its application in education and instruction
  • Awareness of current teaching pedagogy and best practices
  • Be up-to-date on current teaching pedagogy and best practices
  • Innovative approach to math instruction and meaningful, relevant curriculum with a social justice lens
  • Familiarity with standards-based grading
  • Integrate into a collaborative classroom environment that meets the needs of all students
  • Open willingness for collaboration with the department and the broader STEM team

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or equivalent
  • Current Single Subject Math teaching credential

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of high school teaching experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity
  • Master’s Degree in either Education or Mathematics

 

Terms of Employment:

  • 2026-27 academic year
  • Annual renewable contract
