Public Relations Intern
Job Overview:
As a Public Relations Intern, you will learn the skills necessary to succeed in a communications career and gain indispensable knowledge of how businesses work. This role will provide training spanning several areas including media relations, content development, and client management, to build your influencing and relationship-building skills, allowing you to deliver Helios-caliber service and research. Your knowledge of media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities will directly shape how new and existing businesses grow. You will be involved in a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented team. As a driven Public Relations Intern, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct competitive, industry, or client research for presentations, pitches, or industry analysis.
- Research topics or other related industry information.
- Plan content calendars.
- Monitor companies’ media coverage and provide coverage analyses.
- Write research-based content for social media platforms, particularly Weibo and WeChat, and online publications.
- Develop and present decks to convey research findings.
- Provide engaging text, image, and video content for social media accounts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently involved in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Associate’s degree program with a preferred focus on Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Markets, Market Research fields.
- Fluency and mastery of written and spoken English.
- This position has an emphasis on creating written content, sourcing imagery, and editing videos for social media.
- Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent PowerPoint and Google Slides skills to create eye-catching decks.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a sharp focus.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues/topics and develop recommendations and action plans.
- Ambitious learner with a clear desire to communicate with team members.
- Familiarity with working with social media platforms (i.e. WeChat) is a plus.
- Fluency in Chinese is a plus.
