CDPH 2026 Fall Internship Program

Looking to use your passion to improve the lives of others? Apply for an internship position with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and get hands-on experience at an organization responsible for the health and wellbeing of millions of Californians.  

  • Applications are open until Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11:59 P.M. 
  • Cohort Dates: September 1 to December 11, 2026 
  • Fully remote positions available. Hybrid and onsite positions available at the Richmond and Sacramento offices. 
  • Students studying Public Health, Data and Informatics, Information Technologies, Communications, Health Education, and other supporting fields are encouraged to apply. 
  • Priority given to college juniors and seniors, masters candidates, and transferring junior college students. 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in an affiliated college or university and reside in California throughout the duration of the internship. 
  • DACA and international students are eligible to apply. 
  • Interns are paid between $18 and $21 per hour and must be available to work between 18 to 29 hours per week.

  • Estimated salary: $18-$21 
  • Job location (you can list multiple locations): Fully remote positions, Hybrid and Onsite positions only at our Sacramento and Richmond offices. 
  • Does this position require U.S. work authorization? Yes.  
  • Eligibility for international students (non-US citizens or permanent residents) - Would you sponsor a work visa for the right candidate? No.  
  • Are you willing to hire candidates that are temporarily authorized to work for a defined period in their field of study? (e.g. for a job / internship under OPT/CPT) International students are eligible to apply.
