About the Role
SET Environmental is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Services Specialist to serve as the vital link between our customers, sales team, and field operations. You will be responsible for coordinating daily logistics, managing complex waste profiles, and ensuring our clients receive rapid, high-quality service.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Portage, MI, supporting our SG&A department.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate Logistics: Prepare essential paperwork and schedule daily field service and transportation jobs.
- Emergency Response: Work across SET departments to help coordinate rapid-action emergency responses.
- Waste Management: Provide expert waste profiling, manifesting, and comprehensive waste management support.
- Sales Support: Supply the sales department with pricing for disposal sites and creative transportation options.
- Lead Management: Assist in qualifying incoming leads and directing them to the appropriate sales representative.
- Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact to ensure all customer needs and calls are attended to immediately.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with operational groups and sales reps to analyze customer needs and recommend potential services.
- Administrative Excellence: Perform daily customer service responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties as necessary to keep operations running smoothly.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- 2-year degree (Required), preferably in a science field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a customer service role (Environmental Industry experience preferred).
- Proven experience in a fast-paced environment requiring heavy multi-tasking.
Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
- Problem Solving: Solid reasoning skills with a "self-starter" mentality and the ability to set and hit aggressive goals.
- Attention to Detail: Must be highly detail-oriented to manage complex waste manifesting and scheduling.
