About the Role
Markham is looking for a junior or senior student with a passion for people, culture, and the events industry to join our People & Culture team this semester! This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world People and Culture experience across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement — all within a fast-paced creative events environment.
You’ll collaborate directly with the VP of People & Culture to support programs that help grow, develop, and connect our incredible team members.
What You’ll Do
Assist with recruiting and onboarding, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communications.
Support training and development programs — help organize sessions, track participation, and capture feedback.
Contribute to employee engagement and recognition efforts across Markham’s events and project teams.
Provide administrative and project support for performance management and documentation.
Bring creative ideas and energy to enhance team connection and culture initiatives.
Gain exposure to HR technology systems, including HRIS and ATS platforms, supporting data accuracy and process improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Junior or senior pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
Interest in the events, production, or creative industries and how People and Culture supports dynamic project teams.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
A creative and outgoing personality — someone who enjoys connecting with people and building community.
Comfortable handling confidential information and managing multiple priorities.
Proficient in Google Workspace or similar collaboration tools.

Approximately 10 hours per week
Flexible scheduling to accommodate class commitments
Paid internship
Assisting your team during certain evenings and weekends, especially during peak periods like elections, may be required.

Application Process
The application period for the Summer 2026 Internship Program is now open, and we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The summer program dates will begin in June through mid-August, with some flexibility.
