About the Role
The Finance and New Business Intern will support the Finance and New Business departments in various tasks and projects, providing valuable hands-on experience in these key business areas. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to gain practical experience in financial analysis, reporting, and organizational management. This internship will provide you with exposure to a dynamic workplace environment and the chance to develop essential skills for a career in Finance and/or Business Development.
What You’ll Do
Assisting with accounting journal entries, accounts payables, and payroll
Assisting with developing systems and tools related to financial grants or financial project management
Updating budget tracking tools
Maintenance of clean, organized work areas
Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, and document management.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance team.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Conduct financial data entry and verification.
Help with accounts payable and receivable processes.
Help with research related to new business opportunities

What We’re Looking For
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in numbers and good math skills are essential Experience with data entry programs such as Process Review, General Ledger, Project Setup, Closeout, and other sub-functions
Excellent written and verbal skills
Experience in Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets is a must
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must
Experience with Zoom and other online conferencing tools
Professional phone etiquette and customer service skillsInterest in a career in finance management or people & culture
Well-organized with an eye for detail
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Ability to work well under minimal supervision
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in an efficient manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Available to work overtime and weekendsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Details
Approximately 20 to 25 hours per week
Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments
Paid internship ( $18 per hour.)
Opportunity to pick up more hours outside business hours and on the weekends
Opportunity to extend based on performance and academic schedule
Assisting your team during certain evenings and weekends, especially during peak periods like elections, may be required.
