Internship Projects/Tasks/Assignments

  • Assists with the ticketing management system, comp reconciliation, and post-performance reports.  
  • Assists with day-to-day administrative tasks, such as managing schedules, organizing events, and handling correspondence.
  • Works on mail campaigns, donor research, and data entry.
  • Serves as an usher for special events when needed.
  • May assist with social media postings, maintenance of social media accounts, website updates, banners, and other public materials to promote the theatre program or events, as directed. 
  • Runs errands or performs duties as assigned by the Executive Director to carry out the mission of the organization.
  • Assists with Box Office staffing and other support functions as needed.
  • Performs minor housekeeping tasks, if needed, including cleaning and maintaining theatre spaces

 

Skills Intern Should Develop

  • Hands-on experience in various areas of the theatre industry – valuable for future career paths.
  • Familiarity with event management.
  • Communication and collaboration; ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Data entry, data analytics, research.
  • Problem-solving and chance to develop a creative point of view.
  • Exposure to marketing and digital marketing content and what is successful and what is not.

 

Previous Skills Intern Would Need to be Successful

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • An earnest interest in the administrative and/or business sides of the theatre
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail.
