Graduate Assistant – Research

 

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

 

Job Description Summary:

The Graduate Research Assistant is responsible for providing a high level of research and related programmatic support to Project Investigators in the area of conducting literature reviews, data collection, program protocols and evaluation, project compliance and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess experience in health-related fields. 

 

Job Responsibilities

70%: Research Support

  • Research project support to include data collection, data review, excel spreadsheet build, program evaluation, and reporting. 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Duties as described in the grant project work plan (attach as addendum)

25%: Administrative

  • Provide project/program coordination support including participating in project meetings, taking minutes/notes, coordination of meetings/events, community outreach and engagement related to project objectives.

5%: Other Duties

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student
    • (Fall/Spring – 9 hours, Summer – 6 hours)
    • PhD student preferred
  • Must be in good academic standing.

 

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and TAMUCC guidelines
  • Proficient in MS Office products (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint); word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation and video applications
  • Data management skills preferred
  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Bilingual; Spanish-English
  • Experience with research in a related field 
  • Experience working with individuals and communities with different perspectives, talents, and identities
  • Experience developing and giving presentations
  • Experience with working on scientific/scholarly manuscripts

 

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with research methodology
  • Excellent organizational skills
