Summer Educators &  Assistant | Education, Child Development, Psychology, & Social Work Internship

ABOUT PROGRAM:

Are you an Education, Child Development, Social Work or Psychology major looking for a professional way to spend your summer? Tech Academy is seeking enthusiastic, student-focused individuals to lead our week-long enrichment camps across the Twin Cities

We provide the complete curriculum and all equipment. This is a great opportunity to fulfill internship requirements, gain "contact hours" for teaching licensure, or build a professional portfolio in a supportive, active environment.

Location: Various Twin Cities Schools & Community Centers

Your Responsibilities

  • Classroom Leadership: Manage daily activities and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment for high-energy students.
  • Instruction: Deliver pre-planned, engaging lessons that make complex ideas accessible to children.
  • Logistics: Transport and set up classroom materials (2–3 equipment bins) at your assigned school or community site.
  • Communication: Act as a professional point of contact for parents and site coordinators.

Requirements

  • A Passion for Child Development: You are patient, positive, and confident in your ability to lead a group of children.
  • Reliability: You are punctual, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Logistics: A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to transport equipment bins (up to 40 lbs).
  • Tech-Comfort: General computer literacy and a willingness to learn new educational software.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass local and national background screenings.

Ideal Candidates Often Have:

  • A background in tutoring, coaching, or camp counseling.
  • Aspirations for a career in K-12 education or child psychology.
