Summer Intern - Business Analyst

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Business Analyst Summer Intern to join DataHouse Consulting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real-world consulting projects while developing critical analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Upon exceptional completion of the Summer Internship program, some participants may be invited to continue employment with DataHouse.

Internship Length: 8 – 10 weeks

Employment Type: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Location: Onsite in Honolulu

Anticipated Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

What You Will Do

  • Partner with project teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and actionable insights
  • Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Assist in data analysis, reporting, and visualization to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and leadership on active client projects
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and client discussions
  • Contribute to a capstone-style project with final presentation to leadership

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to think critically and approach challenges creatively
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) for school/work projects

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Excel, data analysis, or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Exposure to SQL or data querying concepts
  • Interest in consulting, technology, or business transformation

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use
  • Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and via virtual collaboration tools
  • May occasionally lift and carry items such as laptops or materials (up to 15 pounds)
  • Ability to move within an office setting to attend meetings and collaborate with team members
