Social Media & Marketing Intern

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Location: Boonville, MO (onsite)
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Creative Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary

 

Focus: Social Media, Advertising, Graphic Design, SEO & Creative Marketing

 

Position Summary

The Social Media & Marketing Intern supports the marketing team through creative content production, digital advertising, SEO initiatives, and brand development projects. This role provides hands-on experience across the full marketing lifecycle — from concept and design to execution and performance analysis.

 

Working alongside a Marketing mentor, the intern will gain exposure to both strategic marketing and professional design processes within a manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Presence

  • Manage and grow social media accounts (especially X and other platforms)
  • Create engaging posts, reels, graphics, and campaigns
  • Develop content calendars and messaging strategies
  • Monitor engagement and respond to followers

 

Multimedia & Creative Design

  • Capture and edit photos/videos of products, manufacturing processes, and events
  • Design marketing graphics, packaging, labels, and catalogs
  • Assist with motion graphics and video editing
  • Maintain organized asset libraries and templates

 

Advertising & SEO

  • Assist in SEO keyword research and website optimization
  • Support digital ad campaign creation and performance tracking
  • Navigate restrictive or regulated advertising environments
  • Analyze traffic, conversions, and engagement data

 

Public Relations & Outreach

  • Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media
  • Support informational meetings and presentations
  • Help develop web-based messaging and communication strategies

 

Internal Business & Team Collaboration

  • Shadow multimedia team through project lifecycles
  • Attend team meetings and cross-functional check-ins
  • Support Sales, Operations, and R&D marketing needs

 

Research & Innovation

  • Explore trends in design, generative AI, motion graphics, and multimedia tech
  • Recommend tools or approaches to improve workflow

 

Administrative Support

  • Maintain marketing databases and contact lists
  • Organize files and marketing materials
  • Provide general team support

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Consistent posting schedule and content delivery
  • +25% increase in social engagement or reach
  • On-time completion of creative/design projects
  • Improved SEO rankings or web traffic growth
  • Successful launch of digital campaigns
  • Organized design asset system maintained
  • Positive internal team feedback on collaboration
  • Completion of assigned training modules

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR regulations.
  • Must meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
  • Actively pursuing degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, Design, or related field
  • Experience creating photo/video content
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, proactive, and self-motivated

 

Preferred

  • Experience with Adobe, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms
  • Graphic design or portfolio samples
  • Interest in manufacturing or technical products
  • Knowledge of or interest in shooting sports or hunting industry (if applicable to company)

 

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Frequent computer and desk work
  • Occasional movement throughout office and production areas
  • Must follow manufacturing safety protocols
  • Ability to lift light marketing materials
  • Exposure to light industrial environment
