EHS Engineer Intern

Position Overview

The EHS Engineer Intern will play an important role in supporting initiatives that enhance workplace safety, promote employee health, and advance sustainability goals within OPmobility. Working alongside a team of experienced EHS professionals, the student will contribute to improving key EHS metrics and help develop reporting tools that track progress toward organizational KPI targets.

The role includes hands-on involvement in safety risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, cost–benefit analyses for green energy initiatives, and other support activities related to sustainability and health & safety. This is a year-round internship opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities

The EHS Engineer Intern will be responsible for:

Safety & Health Support

  • Assisting with safety risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations
  • Supporting incident investigation follow-up and root-cause analysis activities
  • Participating in workplace safety observations and audits

Sustainability & Environmental Support

  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and green energy projects
  • Conducting cost–benefit analyses for energy or environmental improvements
  • Helping monitor compliance with environmental programs and company standards

Reporting & Metrics

  • Gathering and validating data for key EHS performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintaining reports, dashboards, and documentation for internal use
  • Following up with functional teams to ensure timely completion of action items
  • Supporting EHS systems (Enablon, Kimea, Skyreal, Risk Analysis tools)

Project & Communication Support

  • Participating in global project activities and cross-functional collaboration
  • Assisting in the preparation of presentations and status updates
  • Taking ownership of assigned projects from planning to completion

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to learn EHS systems such as Enablon, Kimea, Skyreal, and risk analysis tools.
  • Basic understanding of safety principles, ergonomics, or environmental compliance (preferred but not required).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams and following up on action items.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy in reporting and documentation.
