West Chin Architect, a modern, high-end residential and hospitality interior design and architecture firm is seeking a Junior Architectural Designer. WCA encourages creativity in a dynamic, casual environment, and presents a great opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills. Junior Designer will be working mostly with project managers and designers on modern, high-end residential and hospitality projects.  Responsibilities will be focused on preparing drawings in AutoCAD, 3D modeling/rendering for client presentations & construction drawing sets, and materials & specifications research.

West Chin Architect is an award-winning, published architecture and interior design firm with offices in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, East Hampton, NY and Miami, FL. We specialize in modern, high-end residential and hospitality interior design and architecture.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years min. of post-graduate, full-time experience in high-end modern residential architecture and design, including schematic design, design development, construction documents; construction administration experience is a plus; preference will be given to those with New York City experience
  • Ability to produce presentation and construction document drawings in AutoCAD
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, coordination, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work with project team and to communicate with outside consultants & vendors effectively and efficiently
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve in fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of NY building codes and ADA compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Proficient in the following software: AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe CS; SketchUp and/or Rhino 3D skills are a plus
