Position Title:
GIS/GPS Technician

Department:
Physical Facilities Operation Center

Position Summary

Perform field data collection to maintain campus utility and base maps (topographic surveys, stakeouts and construction as-built). Use software to create and maintain campus maps and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Field data collection of campus utilities and base map features using land surveying equipment and mobile handheld devices
  • Inspect and analyze survey data
  • Research, locate and mark underground campus utilities
  • Maintain up-to-date campus maps using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, Catalog and AutoCAD software
  • Integrate campus data into the Campus GIS database

Qualifications or Requirements

  • Ability to work independently
  • Competent in working with computers, GIS systems and other mapping software
  • Communicate well both orally and written

Salary Range

Starting wage: $14.00
