Registered Nurse

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves delivering comprehensive patient care across various departments, including medical-surgical, critical care, emergency medicine, and specialty units. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in ensuring optimal health outcomes through expert assessment, compassionate support, and precise medical interventions.

DUTIES

  • Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
  • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
  • Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, allergies, and current meds and respiration.
  • Provides routine care for patients.
  • Observes patients’ health.
  • Reviews medical charts.
  • Communicate with patients and their families.
  • Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler
  • Prepares specimens for lab.
  • Administers medications.
  • Evaluates and documents intervention and patient response to treatment.
  • Administers enemas douches, perineal care, Foley Cath care, colostomy care, and suppositories.
  • Follows and adheres to isolation techniques and universal exposure control procedures for infection control.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transferring to and from wheelchairs, stretcher, commode, or ambulatory status with or without crutch or walker assistance.
  • Assist physicians in emergency care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSURE, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Kansas or a compact Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification approved by the American Heart Association upon hire or within the first 60 days of employment and must maintain a valid BLS certification throughout your employment.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification approved by the American Heart Association upon hire or within the first year of employment and must maintain a valid ACLS certification throughout your employment.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification approved by the American Heart Association upon hire or within the first year of employment and must maintain a valid ACLS certification throughout your employment.
