Middle School English Teacher

Calvary Christian School is seeking a dynamic, engaging Middle School English Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year (start date: August 2026). This individual will be passionate about language arts instruction, student development, and partnering within a collaborative, Christ-centered community. We are looking for an educator who sees teaching as both a calling and an opportunity to invest in the lives of students.

Position Overview

The Middle School English Teacher will lead instruction in language arts for either 7th and/or 8th grade. This role includes working closely with faculty, students, and families to support both academic and personal growth.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • California Teaching Credential (Multiple Subject or Single Subject)

Experience

  • Classroom teaching experience preferred but not required
  • Experience working with adolescent or pre-adolescent students in educational, coaching, ministry, or similar settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school English/Language Arts curriculum at the assigned grade level (7th or 8th)
  • Working alongside other teachers, including collaboration on events, field trips, and student support
  • Partner regularly with the other English/Language Arts teachers to plan curriculum, coordinate programs, and align on student development
  • Build strong relationships with students, supporting both academic achievement and social-emotional growth
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and school leadership
  • Integrate technology to enhance instruction and differentiate learning experiences
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment
  • Actively participate in school programs, performances, and community events
  • Support and model the mission and values of Calvary Christian School within a Christ-centered environment
  • Demonstrate a personal faith that is reflected through interactions with students, families, and colleagues
  • Integrate a biblical worldview appropriately into teaching and student mentorship
