About the Role
We are seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will support the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise IT systems and networks. You will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants to ensure that client environments remain secure, stable, and scalable.
This position is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is passionate about infrastructure, troubleshooting, and supporting modern enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for operating systems, hardware, and enterprise applications.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot system issues, including network connectivity, hardware failures, and software errors.
- Support user account management, permissions, and access control.
- Perform routine system updates, patching, and maintenance to ensure system security and reliability.
- Assist with network configuration and monitoring, including routers, switches, and VPN connections.
- Document IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement infrastructure improvements and automation.
- Help maintain system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and security protocols.
- Provide responsive and professional IT support to internal teams and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic experience with Windows or Linux system administration.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user management, and access control.
- Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and operating system support.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
