Position Summary
Calmer Pathways Therapy is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support pediatric therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will assist in implementing individualized treatment plans that address sensory processing, motor development, self-care skills, and functional independence. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children in a supportive, faith-centered environment that values creativity, movement-based learning, and family collaboration.
Responsibilities
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
Provide pediatric therapy services focused on fine motor skills, sensory regulation, motor coordination, and functional independence
Support interventions related to sensory processing, primitive reflex integration, and nervous system regulation
Assist with adaptive programming and therapeutic activities that support learning and development
Document therapy sessions and client progress according to clinic standards
Communicate regularly with the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding client performance and progress
Provide guidance and home strategies for families to support carryover of therapy goals
Maintain therapy materials and assist in organizing treatment spaces
Participate in team collaboration and contribute to a supportive therapeutic environment
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current Florida COTA license (or eligibility)
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Passion for working with children and families
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Experience
Pediatric therapy experience
Familiarity with sensory processing and sensory integration approaches
Knowledge of primitive reflex integration and regulation strategies
Experience working with children with developmental delays, autism, or sensory challenges
