Hardware Electrical Engineer Intern
About the role:
Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. AIS provides devices and therapies for a patient’s entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Performing bench-level testing of ASICs for design and analysis
- Analog/Mixed-Mode circuit design and verification using Cadence Virtuoso Suite
Required Qualifications:

- Must be a rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2026 - June 2028), graduating senior (May/June 2026 grad) continuing on to grad school, or current grad student
- Currently majoring in Electrical or Computer Engineering with Electrical emphasis
- Must be able to commit to program dates May 18th - August 7th or May 26th – August 14th, 2026
- Has or is willing to organize reliable transportation to the work site
Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso tool suite, Verilog/VHDL RTL coding
- Familiar with basic lab equipment, oscilloscope, function generator, LabVIEW software, Python scripting
- Graduate or undergraduate coursework in Analog/Mixed-Signal/Digital Integrated Circuit/FPGA design and testing
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions
