Social Media & Digital Communications Intern
The Life Raft Group is seeking a motivated Social Media & Digital Communications Intern to support the organization’s digital outreach and storytelling efforts. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital engagement, and health advocacy.
The intern will assist with creating and editing social media content, developing short-form video and reels, monitoring social media trends, and helping track engagement metrics across platforms. This role is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in nonprofit communications, digital media, public health, or marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and edit short-form video content and reels for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
- Assist with the development of engaging social media posts highlighting patient stories, educational resources, advocacy efforts, and organizational initiatives.
- Monitor emerging social media trends and recommend new formats or content strategies.
- Support the planning and scheduling of social media content in collaboration with the communications team.
- Assist with the creation of graphics, captions, and visual storytelling content.
- Track and compile basic social media analytics and engagement metrics to help evaluate campaign performance.
- Contribute ideas for digital campaigns, awareness initiatives, and event promotion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Health, Journalism, or a related field.
- Interest in nonprofit communications, healthcare advocacy, or mission-driven storytelling.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and short-form video platforms.
- Basic experience with video editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar software.
- Strong writing, creativity, and attention to detail.
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience with social media analytics or engagement tracking.
- Familiarity with content planning tools or social media dashboards.
- Interest in health communications, patient advocacy, or rare disease awareness.
