TERMS: 10-Month Certificated (190 Days)


SALARY RANGE: State Salary Schedule for Certificated Personnel plus local teaching supplement
 

JOB GOAL: To teach assigned students the academic, social and manipulative
skills and abilities as directed by the established curriculum and perform other duties relating to student safety, control, welfare, and growth.
 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor degree in Education or related field with valid Georgia teaching
certificate.
2. Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers.
3. Work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
 

JOB DUTIES:
1. Teach one or more subjects in the school, and within the framework of the goals established by the school system; plan and implement appropriate long and short range objectives for each assigned
course.
2. Effectively instruct students in subject matter, utilizing various teaching methods such as lecture, demonstration, technology, and other materials to supplement presentations.
3. Continually assess student abilities as relates to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
4. Effectively manage the behavior of learners to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process and assist in the management of student behavior in other parts of the school and school grounds.
5. Work in a self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.
6. Maintain up-to-date and accurate student grade records and attendance records.
7. Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student progress and behavior.
8. Support and/or participate in school-wide student activities, social events, and fundraisers.
9. Effectively supervise paraprofessional performance, if applicable.
10. Participate in facility and professional meetings, educational conferences, and staff development opportunities.
11. Contribute to an atmosphere of harmony and good will in the workplace.
12. Meet the performance and behavioral expectations of the principal.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
