Shift Lead
Shift Lead – Leadership Development Track – Launch Family Entertainment | Okemos, MI Part-Time | Flexible Scheduling Around Classes
Launch Lansing is hiring — and we're looking at MSU and LCC first.
Launch Family Entertainment in Okemos is a trampoline park, laser tag arena, café, and full-on family experience destination. We're a fast-moving, high-energy environment and we're building a team of sharp, people-first leaders — starting with you.
This isn't a "stand around and fold shirts" part-time job. From day one you'll be cross-training across every role in the building, and for the right person, there's a clear path to a full Shift Manager position with bonus-eligible pay.
What This Role Actually Is You'll spend your first weeks learning every position at Launch — Court Monitor, Cashier, Krave Café, Laser Tag Marshal, Party Host — so you understand the operation from the ground up. As you develop, you'll take on shift leadership responsibilities: helping open and close, guiding newer team members, and making real-time decisions on the floor.
This is a legitimate leadership development role, not a title with no substance behind it.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Cross-training across all park roles and operations
- Supporting shift leads and managers on busy evenings and weekends
- Helping create an awesome guest experience every shift
- Mentoring and setting the tone for younger crew members
- Growing into shift leadership responsibilities over time
You're a Great Fit If You:
- Have experience leading people in any context — RA, orientation leader, team captain, club officer, camp counselor, youth coach, or similar
- Stay calm and focused when things get busy and unpredictable
- Actually enjoy working with kids, teens, and families
- Are looking for more than just a paycheck — you want something that builds real skills
- Have evening and weekend availability (we work around your class schedule)
Experience & Requirements:
- Currently enrolled at MSU, LCC, or a nearby college/university
- Customer service or people-facing experience a plus — but campus leadership counts
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18+ with reliable transportation
- Able to work 15–25 hours/week, including evenings and weekends
- Located in or near the Okemos/Lansing area
Preferred but not required: ServSafe, CPR certification
Compensation & Growth:
- Competitive hourly pay
- Flexible scheduling built around your academic calendar
- Employee discount
- Paid time off
- Promotion path to full Shift Manager — including monthly performance bonuses averaging an additional $1–$5/hr — for those who demonstrate the right leadership over time
The Bottom Line If you've got energy, a steady head, and you like the idea of actually running something — not just working in it — we want to talk. Launch Lansing is a place where good people move up fast.
