Astar Explorer is a dynamic educational and childcare center located in Fair Oaks Mall (Fairfax, VA). We offer after-school programs, daycare support, workshops, camps, and birthday experiences designed to make learning fun, interactive, and meaningful for children.

 

Our programs focus on creativity, confidence-building, and hands-on learning across STEM, communication, and language development.


 

Position Overview:

 

We are hiring multiple instructors to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children in a fun and engaging environment.
 

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, including after-school hours, weekends, and seasonal camps.


 

Teaching Areas (Multiple Openings):

 

STEM Instructors

 

  • Robotics, 3D printing, and LEGO-based activities
  • Hands-on, interactive learning experiences

 

Business & Communication Instructors

  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Confidence building
  • Introduction to entrepreneurship for kids

 

Language Instructors

 

  • Spanish
  • Chinese

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead engaging and interactive sessions
  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment
  • Encourage participation and confidence
  • Adapt lessons to different learning styles
  • Collaborate with team members as needed


 

Qualifications:

 

  • Passion for working with children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Background in relevant subject area (STEM, business, communication, or languages)
  • Licensed teachers in Virginia are strongly encouraged to apply
  • College students and recent graduates welcome


 

Volunteer Opportunities:


 

We welcome and encourage volunteers who are interested in gaining hands-on experience.
