We're looking to hire several User Experience Research Interns to work on exciting and complex problems across multiple teams here at eBay.
At eBay, your research will impact best-in-class, multi-screen user experiences for the world's largest online marketplace with almost 150 million shoppers and 25+ million sellers. As a User Experience Research Intern, you will work collaboratively with our design, product, and engineering teams. You will design and execute primary research to understand our customers’ needs and pain points. You will apply your understanding of human behavior and human-computer interaction to synthesize customer insights and inform product and design decisions. Your impact will scale from usability and the nuts and bolts of the UI to more strategic product and policy decisions. Your ultimate motivation is to create an excellent end-to-end customer experience across platforms and devices.

We're looking for someone who:
- Is a great communicator and collaborative team player
- Has some experience conducting research, analyzing findings, and presenting them to different audiences
- Is able to work and collaborate closely with peers to get the job done.
- Has run qualitative and/or quantitative research as part of your coursework, volunteering, personal projects, or other gigs
- Has a solid understanding of both research and design
- Is comfortable with remote collaboration and communication
- Is ready to work in a fast-paced environment with researchers, designers, product managers, and other functions
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student, 0-3 years minimum of relevant work experience in an accredited Masters or Ph.D. program within the United States graduating after December 2026
- Working towards a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Information Architecture or related field
- Coursework in a variety of user experience research methods (such as lab and field research, survey design, statistical analysis)
- Must be organized, able to act independently, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced and exciting environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills a must
- Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with AI-enabled research tools, including experience using generative AI to support research planning, synthesis, and insight generation. Ideal applicants show curiosity about emerging AI methods, can thoughtfully evaluate AI outputs for quality and bias, and are eager to apply AI responsibly within UX research workflows.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.
$53-$64 / hr Bi-weekly (Every two weeks).
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including Location, Education level, Skills, and Experience.
