Share Food Summer Associate VISTA

Member Duties : Support food collection and distribution for families experiencing food insecurity at a variety of Share Food Program locations. Develop relationships with other food distribution centers and organizations to increase community outreach and visibility of Share Food Program initiatives. Support the maintenance of data management systems for operations and growth opportunities.

Service Description : Share Food Program’s mission leads the fight against food insecurity in the Philadelphia region, by serving an expansive, quality partner network of community-based organizations and school districts engaged in food distribution, education, and advocacy. AmeriCorps Summer VISTA Associates will have the opportunity to support the organization with activities including food collection and distribution for families experiencing food insecurity, contributing to community outreach at Philadelphia food distribution centers. The summer associate will make a meaningful impact to Share Food’s long-term capacity to eliminate food insecurity in the communities that they serve.
