BCLA Summer Internship Program - Community Engagement Intern

  • Location: On-Site, at either the Mar Vista location (12515 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066) or the Echo Park location (1714 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026) 
  • We will heavily consider candidates site preferences to determine their placement 
  • Position Type: Liberal Arts College Summer Internship  
  • Number of Positions: 1-2 
    Academic Level: BCLA Junior, Senior or Masters  
  • Hours: Approximately 24-hours/week (10 weeks)    
  • Duration: (June 1 – August 7) Summer 2026    
  • Compensation: [$4000 BCLA stipend, and/or course credit, as applicable] 

 

Position Overview 

The Community Engagement Intern will support outreach and relationship building with community members, partners, and stakeholders. This role is ideal for students passionate about social impact, civic engagement, and community-centered work. 

Interns will assist with outreach initiatives, community programs, and engagement strategies that strengthen connections between the organization and the communities it serves. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist with community outreach and partnership development 
  • Support planning and coordination of community programs or workshops 
  • Conduct research on community needs and resources 
  • Help track engagement data and program participation 
  • Assist with communications to community partners and stakeholders 
  • Participate in events or initiatives that connect the organization with the community
