Froelich Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time, in-person civil designer with zero to two (0 to 2) years of experience for our Portland office location.

As a Civil Site Designer, you will play a key role in the planning and design of site development projects. You will work under the supervision of licensed professional engineers while gaining hands-on experience in grading, stormwater management, utilities, and site layout. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging engineers seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare site layout and grading plans for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments
- Design stormwater systems including detention, conveyance, and water quality facilities
- Design and coordinate water, sanitary sewer, and storm utility systems
- Develop civil construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, landscape architects, and public agencies
- Assist with permit submittals and responding to jurisdictional review comments
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical design discussions
- Conduct site visits during construction and assist with construction administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- New college graduates and applicants with up to 2 years of experience in civil design
- EIT (Engineer in Training) certification (or results pending)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Positive and professional attitude
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Experience with civil design software and AutoCAD C3D is a plus
Compensation, Benefits, Opportunities
- Competitive Salary based on experience and qualifications: $65,000 to $75,000 a year
