5th Grade Teacher - Emphasis in Mathematics

Calvary Christian School, located in Pacific Palisades, is looking for a dynamic, engaging, 5th grade classroom teacher, focusing primarily on mathematics. This teacher will work closely with other grade-level math teachers, including those in Calvary’s middle school program, and partner with our other 5th grade teacher, whose primary focus is language arts. The start-date for the position is August of 2026 for the 26-27 school year.

Hiring Criteria:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree. California State Multiple-Subject or Single-Subject (Math-focused) Teaching Credential.

Experience:

Classroom teaching experience is recommended but not required. We are asking that all applicants come in with experience working with elementary aged children in some capacity.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee all mathematics curriculum for the 5th grade (40 students total, 20 per class)

· Teach homeroom students all Bible and Social Studies curriculum. Partner with the other 5th grade teacher in these two curricular areas.

· Comfortably work directly with parents and administrators in educating, mentoring and nurturing the growth of young children.

· Comfortably and appropriately engage in a faith-based (Christian) environment.

· Meet regularly with partner teacher regarding all school functions, programs, performances and academic endeavors relating to 5th grade.

· Appropriately utilizes technology in an effort to deliver curriculum in differentiated formats.

· Proactively engages students’ social and emotional needs.
