92NY Camps: Camp K’Ton Ton Head Counselor Position
Join the 92NY Camps staff team! We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to work as Head Counselors at our early childhood camp here in New York City. 92NY's team philosophy creates a stimulating work environment in which every staff member is valued. Camp runs Monday through Friday from June 29th through August 7th, with a pre-camp orientation in June. Head Counselors are responsible for supporting and ensuring the general safety, development, growth, and skill-building of the campers throughout the camp day.
Essential Functions
• Supervise campers ages 2.5-5 years old during all aspects of camp, including lunch, rest, and various activities.
• Supervise and support staff, including Counselors and Junior Counselors.
• Become familiar with all aspects of the camp program, including procedural protocols, goals, and mission.
• Create, distribute, and review mid-summer and end-of-summer staff evaluations for your group counselors.
• Assist with regularly scheduled program activities (arts, sports, gymnastics, classroom play, etc.) according to the abilities, limitations, and needs of individual campers.
• Communicate regularly with the Camp Director and camp families regarding camper observations, concerns, and any difficulties as needed.
• Develop content and curriculum to support camper needs and foster a strong group community.
• Ensure all safety procedures are strictly followed and handle incidents promptly and appropriately.
• Guide campers in group activities tailored to their abilities and needs.
• Arrive prepared to fully participate in daily camp activities.
• Read and comply with all camp policies outlined in the Staff Manual, including dress code, emergency procedures, and other rules.
• Model enthusiasm for camp life and activities, embodying camp values such as compassion, kindness, leadership, courage, and mindfulness.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Wear the provided staff shirt and sneakers while on duty, and appropriate swim attire for swimming activities.
• Communicate directly with the camp office regarding application, pre-camp paperwork, and throughout the summer.
Education, Skills and Experience
•Master's degree in education, social work, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with five or more years of teaching experience.
• Experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, or other roles working with children.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, completing tasks with energy and creativity.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Salary Range: $2,523 - $5,887
The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
Camp Dates: Camp runs from Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, or 4:30 PM depending on the designated camp group), from June 29 – August 7 with pre-camp orientation in June.
