BCLA Summer Internship Program - Program and Workshop Coordinator

Program/Workshop Coordinator:  

Responsible for arranging all aspects of workshop events including set up timing, coordination and breakdown, social media marketing, event structure, and impact studies and research, which will include neurodiversity affirming practices.  

Students will produce a workshop of their choice that will benefit our client base and be responsible for complete production and outcome reports for their chosen workshop.

    Location: Fully in-person, On-site 
    Address: 3701 W 54th Street, Los Angeles 90043 
  • Number of Positions: 1-2 Interns   
  • Academic Year:  Current Junior, Senior or Masters (as of Fall 2026)
  • Hours: 25 to 30 hours per week, 240 hours minimum   
  • Duration: (June 1 – August 7) Summer 2026   
  • Compensation: [$4000 BCLA stipend, and/or course credit, as applicable] 

About the Opportunity 

The Program and Workshop Coordinator Intern will help design and deliver workshops that support the autistic and neurodivergent community. This is a hands-on opportunity for students interested in program development, event coordination, community engagement, and inclusive programming. 

Interns will develop and produce a workshop from concept to completion. This includes planning the workshop structure, coordinating logistics, promoting the event, and evaluating its impact. 

What You Will Do 

  • Coordinate workshop logistics including scheduling, setup, facilitation support, and breakdown 
  • Design and produce a workshop that supports the needs and interests of VPWC clients 
  • Create social media and outreach strategies to promote workshop participation 
  • Incorporate neurodiversity affirming and inclusive practices into programming 
  • Assist with participant engagement during workshops 
  • Collect feedback and contribute to impact evaluation 
  • Prepare a final report summarizing workshop outcomes

Internship Project 

Each intern will design and produce a workshop of their choice that benefits the VPWC client community and will complete a final report documenting the workshop process, outcomes, and impact.
