- Compensation: $4,000 stipend for completion of the internship term
Position Overview
College Advantage Counseling is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized intern to support a private college advising practice serving high school students and families. This internship offers hands-on experience in communications, research, content development, and educational advising support.
The intern will work closely with the owner and receive direct mentorship, including in-person training opportunities when the employer is in Los Angeles.
There may also be an opportunity to continue working on an hourly or project basis after the official internship period concludes.
Responsibilities
- The intern will support the college advisor by:
- Creating a monthly newsletter using Canva or similar tools
- Creating and maintaining an Instagram account using advisor-provided content, with some independent research
- Building and organizing email communication groups
- Proofreading student activity lists and written materials
- Updating the company website
- Creating and maintaining Google Sheets for student college lists and application timelines
- Conducting directed research on colleges, academic programs, and student opportunities
- Organizing new student packets and advising materials
- Designing and ordering company merchandise
- Drafting follow-up emails based on advisor meeting notes
- Interviewing students attending various colleges to identify benefits of specific academic programs
