Junior Associate Salesperson

Job Description: Junior Associate Salesperson – Industrial & Office Investment Sales (Capital Markets)

 

Location: Washington, DC (In-Person)

Salary Range: (based on experience)

 

Position Summary:

Our high-volume Capital Markets team is seeking a driven, professional pursuing a career in commercial real estate investment sales to join our Industrial and Office Investment Sales team in Washington, DC. This junior role offers the opportunity to join a top-producing team in the Washington/Baltimore region and receive mentorship from a 25-year veteran partner and a recently promoted associate broker. The junior associate will support every facet of the investment sales brokerage profession and gain direct experience in transaction execution, business development, client servicing, and real estate market analysis.

The position provides a strong foundation in brokerage through direct mentorship and participation in the KLNB’s Junior Broker Training Program. The Junior Associate will support transaction management, market research, client presentations, and marketing initiatives while developing the analytical, operational, and business development skills needed to succeed within the commercial real estate brokerage industry.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Transaction Project Management

  • Coordinate with internal and external project teams including clients, investors, graphic designers, photographers, and internal marketing staff
  • Assist with transaction timelines, due diligence coordination, property tours, and site visits
  • Update and produce internal reports such as listing marketing reports and pipeline tracking

 

Research & Market Analysis

  • Conduct project-based research and analyze market data including active listings, recently sold comparables, and industry trends
  • Track market activity and compile property-level intelligence to support team strategy and client advisory
  • Utilize technology and AI tools to enhance research, data analysis, and presentation deliverables

 

Sales & Client Support

  • Assist in preparing investment memorandums, pitch proposals, and client presentations
  • Conduct market research to support business development efforts
  • Coordinate client meetings and presentations
  • Attend and assist with preparation for property tours

 

Administrative & Marketing Support

  • Maintain client records and update the team’s CRM database (Apto/Salesforce)
  • Assist with processing transactions and internal documentation
  • Coordinate marketing materials and social media initiatives with internal resources

 

Professional Development

  • Participate in the KLNB Junior Broker Training Program
  • Work closely with a senior and associate brokers through a structured mentorship environment
  • Stay informed on market trends, capital markets activity, and investment strategies relevant to the Washington/Baltimore industrial and office sectors

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of direct commercial real estate experience preferred, including internships, coursework, or professional experience in investment real estate or brokerage
  • Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in commercial real estate sales and brokerage
  • Quick learner with strong initiative, sense of urgency, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication, research, and analytical skills
  • Technologically savvy with interest in AI integration for research, data analysis, and presentation development
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with industry platforms such as CoStar, LoopNet, Placer, Apto/Salesforce, Argus, and Adobe is a plus
  • Background in finance is helpful but not required
  • Real estate license not required for this position
  • Bachelor’s degree required
