Great Lakes Political Academy Summer Fellow

About GLPA-LEAD

The Great Lakes Political Academy (GLPA) has been a cornerstone of progressive campaign education in Michigan since its founding in 2013. Over the years, GLPA has trained more than 350 fellows through its intensive and highly regarded programs. Our mission is to empower rising campaign leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in competitive political environments.

Role Details:

This role is remote from Michigan. This role pays $20/hour, and is full-time (32 hours/week) from late May to August. 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Help to build and maintain the database of leadership and contact lists.
  • Coordinate training event logistics and event registration data 
  • Support organization’s work to recruit school board candidates and run a series of organizer trainings throughout the summer 
  • Help plan fundraising events
  • Research local elected officials, upcoming elections, and district demographics to inform strategic recruitment strategy 
  • Contribute to social media platforms by drafting posts and using data to inform content 
  • Help with administrative duties

There are no prerequisites – we want fellows from all majors and class years to join us.
