TeacherLists Data Quality Intern

Overview

School Family Media helps schools and families prepare for a successful school year by providing trusted tools and resources that strengthen school-to-home connections. TeacherLists is our nationally recognized digital platform that makes it easy for schools and districts to create, manage, and share school supply lists with families. The platform digitizes supply lists and connects them to major retailers, allowing families to quickly find and shop their child’s exact list online or in-store.

About the Role

School Family Media is seeking a detail-oriented Summer Intern to support the TeacherLists team during the busy back-to-school season. This role plays an important part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of school supply list data on the platform.

Summer interns will review and monitor supply lists entered into the TeacherLists system to ensure information is complete, accurate, and properly formatted. This includes verifying schools, classrooms, supply items, and quantities while ensuring retailer mentions and sponsored brands appear correctly on lists.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the quality of school supply lists entered on TeacherLists.com, ensuring all list information is complete and accurate
  • Verify that key list data—including school name, classroom, supply items, and quantities—is entered correctly and consistently
  • Help ensure list volume is tracking toward seasonal goals by reviewing submitted lists and confirming all required data fields are complete
  • Monitor retail and brand presence on lists, ensuring retailer mentions are placed appropriately and sponsored items are correctly branded
  • Review quarantined lists to prevent spam or inaccurate content from appearing on the TeacherLists platform
  • Confirm that list titles reflect the correct upcoming school year
  • Conduct school and retailer research as needed to support list quality and completeness
  • Capture and document retailer shopping experiences through the TeacherLists platform
  • Assist with user account setup and other operational support tasks
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned by the TeacherLists team

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and other interns
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Interest in data quality, digital platforms, or operations is a plus

Schedule & Hours

This is a part-time seasonal internship, with an expected schedule of 20–25 hours per week during the internship period.

As this role supports our peak back-to-school season, interns must be available for the full internship period (approximately May 5–August 31, 2026) and should not plan extended absences during that time.

Work Authorization

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. School Family Media does not sponsor employment visas for this position.

Benefits Eligibility

This position is classified as a temporary seasonal internship and is not eligible for company benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off.

What You’ll Gain From This Internship

  • Hands-on experience working with a nationally recognized digital platform used by schools and families across the country.
  • Exposure to how data quality, digital products, and retail partnerships support the back-to-school season.
  • Experience working with a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on supporting schools and families.
  • The opportunity to build professional skills in research, data review, and digital operations.
  • Insight into how technology connects schools, retailers, and families during one of the busiest seasons of the year.
