We’re Amy’s Ice Creams Catering—a beloved, still locally owned Austin original—and we’re hiring delightful weirdos to drive our ice cream truck (25+), lead catering shifts (21+), and serve joy for a living.
Whether you’re scooping under the sun, dancing through wedding toasts, or steering our truck to its next party stop—we’ll train you, cheer for you, and pay you well to be your full, amazing self. We don’t believe in soul-sucking jobs or dead-eyed customer service. We believe in high fives, good music, and treating team members like intelligent humans. What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the face of Amy’s at festivals, fundraisers, weddings, and rooftop parties across Austin and surrounding cities. From your very first shift, we’ll teach you how to make people’s day with autonomy, creativity, and kindness.
Truck Driver / Shift Leader (25+)
- Drive our (adorable) waffle cone themed Ice Cream Truck to events
- Set the tone, lead the team, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences
- Scoop with style, connect with customers, and manage the flow
Van Driver / Shift Leader (21+)
- Load gear, drive vans to private events, and set up like a boss
- Serve ice cream like it’s a performance (because it kind of is)
- Clean, reset, restock, repeat—with good vibes
Scoopers / Event Staff
- Work events around town in costume (optional, but encouraged!)
- Lift up to 50 lbs (yes, this is your gym now)
- Smile, high-five small children, help a grandma find the trash can
- Possibly dance. Definitely sing. Maybe wear a tiny cape.
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
- Are 21+ to drive catering vans, and 25+ to drive the truck
- Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Can lift 50 lbs, move quickly, and stay active in outdoor settings
- Are kind, dependable, and open to feedback
- Can work day or night shifts (we’ll work around your other passions)
- Have customer service or food experience
- Are chill under pressure and fun under stress
- Speak Spanish or another language (bonus points!)
Work Vibes & Schedule Details
We’re proudly weird and fiercely local. Amy’s has been serving joy in Austin since 1984—and our catering team brings that same magic to the streets.
- Austin-based, in-person, and often outdoors
- Shifts range from 4–12 hours depending on the event
- You’ll work at rooftop parties, corporate shindigs, music festivals, weddings, and backyard barbecues
- We post schedules in advance and offer flexible hours
- You’ll definitely sweat a little. You might also pet dogs on the job.

Total Pay: ~$25–$30/hr
Yep, seriously. Here’s how it breaks down:
- Base Pay
- $12/hr – most events
- $14/hr – if you drive the big ice cream truck
- $15/hr – if you do admin or cleaning shifts
- $18/hr – if you work a donation/marketing event
- PLUS: Tips (average 20–22% per event)
