IP Recruiting Associate
SunIP is seeking an IP Recruiting & Events Associate. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people and getting out from behind the desk. This role blends the best parts of recruiting (sourcing high quality candidates for niche roles) with the best parts of networking and relationship building (attending IP industry events, talking to a lot of people, and becoming a familiar face within a community).
In this role, you will build a deep network in a sector that is smaller, friendlier, and more connected than most industries.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Identifying potential candidates and introducing them to roles that fit their experience.
- Working closely with leadership to understand hiring needs and industry trends.
- Attending IP conferences (AIPLA, INTA, IPO, LES, AUTM, etc.) and actively networking with attendees.
- Building relationships with attorneys, patent agents, IP operations and docketing professionals, translators, and hiring leaders.
- Keeping in touch with people you meet and maintaining long-term connections.
- Representing SunIP in a friendly, professional way that builds trust and rapport.
- Helping coordinate small networking events in key IP markets.
- Maintaining a high level of organization and sharing updates on your outreach and event activity.
Experience and Required Knowledge:
- Experience in recruiting, sales, events, hospitality, or any people-first field.
- Comfortable approaching new people and starting conversations.
- Naturally outgoing personality.
- Organized and reliable with follow-up.
- Strong communicator who listens well and asks good questions.
- Interested in deeply understanding a niche growth industry; no IP background required.
