Psychology Teacher
192 Days Per Year
Job Summary:
Provide direct instruction and supervision of students. Is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing district-wide instructional initiatives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide for the planning and delivery of instruction to assigned students in accordance with the Board adopted planned courses.
- Maintain current certification and up-to-date knowledge of subject matter, instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and technology and materials.
- Help to maintain a healthy and positive school environment by observation, analysis, and remediation of potential problem areas.
- Provide for overall supervision and behavior management in areas of assignment.
- Participate in the process of curriculum development, selection of materials, staff development, public information and communication with parents as appropriate to the role of a professional employee.
- Support the total program of curriculum and co-curricular activities in areas of established skill, expertise, and background.
- Maintain professional decorum in all interactions with parents, students, and the public.
- Provide for referral services to students to access counseling, health and other related services available through the school.
- Provide reports on student progress as required by the Administration.
- Support the mission of the school in all public contacts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
Qualifications:
- Appropriate PA Certification for area of assignment required
- Pedagogical skills necessary to develop the instructional program
- Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks within the last twelve (12) months.
