Civil Engineer Intern

VAI is seeking Civil Engineer interns for the 2026 summer period. Successful candidates will work under the direction of a senior engineer where they will receive training and mentoring as they assist staff engineers on traffic engineering and highway design projects. Tasks include coordination of data collection and analysis to support the preparation of traffic impact studies and assisting with roadway design, drafting and cost estimating in support of roadway improvement projects. Proficient computer and communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of one or more of the following programs is desirable but not required: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Highway Capacity Software and Synchro™.
