Pay: $22 hourly (Full time preferred, part time accepted)

Job description:

Department’s Objective

Work closely with clients to provide high-quality shop drawings, submittals, as well as project management assistance through the construction process.

Role

The Project Engineer Intern (PEI) will operate within the Project Management Unit (PMU).  Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer or a Project Manager, the PEI will assist with all aspects of the project, from initial planning through successful completion. The PEI will assist other units in ensuring projects are executed efficiently and on time, in line with the client’s schedule and the organization’s vision and goals.

Essential Functions

The key responsibilities of the PEI include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work with Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager on assigned projects
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project-related items. 
• Assist with communication and follow-up for project-related information with EDU (Engineering and drafting Unit) and CMU (Contracts Management Unit)
• Assist the production team to ensure timely production and delivery of material as required by the schedule.
• Assist with the EDU team in preparing technical reports and project-related documentation
• Assist with project closeout

Essential Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
• Good academic record
• Experience with MS Office suite (e.g.  Word, Excel and Teams)
• Experience with CAD programs (e.g. AutoCAD) is a plus
• Ability to read and understand construction documents is a plus
