Mental Health Counselor/Therapist

Next Step Counseling & Neuropsychology is seeking graduate students and post-graduate associates for a training-focused role with strong supervision and mentorship. Build clinical skills, gain hours toward licensure, and work with diverse client needs in a supportive, collaborative small-group practice designed to help early-career clinicians grow without burnout.

Next Step Counseling & Neuropsychology (NSCN) is a small, collaborative mental health practice focused on providing high-quality, strengths-based care. We work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions, and offer in-house neuropsychological assessment for integrated care. We are committed to creating a practice where clinicians can do meaningful work without burning out.

About the Role

  • We are seeking pre-licensure clinicians on the LMHC track, with a preference for post-graduate associates, to join our team in a training-focused role.
  • This is an ideal position for early-career clinicians looking for strong supervision, mentorship, and a supportive team environment while building clinical hours toward licensure.
  • Advanced graduate students (internship/practicum level) are also welcome to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual therapy (telehealth, with optional in-person opportunities)
  • Work with clients across a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and life transitions
  • Participate in supervision, consultation, and team collaboration
  • Gradually build a sustainable caseload

Clinical Approaches Supported

  • Trauma-focused therapy
  • Psychodynamic therapy
  • CBT and integrative approaches
  • Art therapy / expressive therapies
  • Play therapy

Training & Supervision

Supervision and training are fully included.

  • Weekly individual supervision (meets LMHC requirements)
  • Group consultation and didactics
  • Mentorship and case support
  • Collaboration with neuropsychological assessment team

Caseload Expectations

  • Start at 15–18 sessions/week
  • Gradually grow to 20–25 sessions/week
  • Designed to support learning and prevent burnout

Compensation

  • $45 per 90837 clinical hour (post-master’s clinicians)
  • Supervision included at no cost
