Engineering Student Assistant - Technician/Field Work - Liason/ Maintenance Services (Oakland, CA)

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to hire three (3) student assistants, in a learning capacity, under the close supervision of the Maintenance Liaisons and Major Damage Advisor, in a learning capacity, the student assistants will assist in utilizing Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), File Maker Pro, Adobe Pro and Computer Aided Drafting (Micro Stations- preferred), on various task, including, but not limited to, developing spreadsheets, documents, plans, estimate and maintenance forms and templates. The student assistants, in a learning capacity, will also assist with research of as-built plans, maintenance agreements, administrative work, and special assignments, assist in investigating public complaints and inquiries and present recommendations to supervisor including tracking of Customer Service Requests (CSRs) and participate in field meetings and assist Maintenance Liaisons and Major Damage Advisor in developing project development tasks.
