Purpose
To establish a structured internship program within Business Intelligence & Analytics focused on embedding AI-enabled insight generation into core reporting workflows while maintaining data governance, confidentiality, and operational discipline.
Scope
This policy applies to all Business Intelligence & AI Summer Interns, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders participating in the 7-week program.
Program Structure
- Duration: 7 weeks
- Classification: Paid internship
- Reporting Line: BI/Analytics Manager with FP&A Executive Sponsor
- Functional Alignment: FP&A, Risk, Sales, Operations
Program Objectives
The program is designed to:
- Develop practical understanding of KPI frameworks in a fintech environment
- Enable hands-on experience in driver analysis and anomaly detection
- Prototype AI-assisted insight generation embedded into reporting workflows
- Improve clarity, speed, and scalability of analytics outputs
- Deliver at least one high-impact analytics or AI-enabled enhancement
Data Governance & Risk Controls
Because AI plus payments data equals risk if unmanaged:
- Role-based access to production data
- No external AI tool use with sensitive or merchant-identifiable information unless approved and secured
- Supervisor review required before distributing AI-generated summaries
- Documentation of model logic, assumptions, and prompts required
- Clear audit trail of data transformations and AI workflows
Capstone Requirement
Each intern must complete a scalable, documented project such as:
- AI-assisted KPI driver detection prototype
- Automated plain-English insight generator
- Anomaly detection enhancement
- Dashboard enhancement with embedded AI commentary
Performance Management
- Midpoint review (Week 4)
- Final evaluation (Week 7)
- Assessment based on analytical rigor, business relevance, communication clarity, and governance discipline
