Marketing Representative
MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE - SPECIALTY LINES
This is a consultative sales role requiring the individual to build relationships with customers and drive new business to their offices by building rapport, asking questions, presenting solutions and gaining commitment. The marketing representative will spend 80 percent of his or her time in the field visiting customers and be measured on how often he or she demonstrates quoting platforms as well as the results of these efforts.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Conduct at least 20 meetings with customers a week (in person or via video) to demonstrate web and phone quoting capabilities and register new users in order to drive new business submissions in the door.
- Prepare weekly reports of completed sales meetings and meetings scheduled for the upcoming weeks.
- Conduct timely follow-up and continuously communicate with customers/prospects to uncover and take advantage of additional opportunities.
- Engage in systematic prospecting and arrange meetings with potential new customers, as well as with customers that have not reached their revenue potential.
- Identify and establish relationships with key contacts to ensure we are doing business with the right people in each retail operation.
- Review customer quoting activity to spot positive and negative trends, and address these trends as needed.
- Establish an active relationship with Regional Sales Manager and regularly discuss strategy and tactics, including sales issues, travel, and follow-up.
- Pursue continuing education and insurance designations/licenses as outlined in the training and development plan

Position Requirements
- College degree or equivalent business experience (preferred but not required).
- Desire to pursue continuing education and insurance designations/licenses as outlined in the training and development plan. This will require self-study.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent networking abilities and be a relationship builder.
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
- Flexibility under the pressure of a heavy workload and critical deadlines.
- Openness to coaching and a willingness to continuously improve.
Travel
Marketing Representative will travel locally to meet with prospects and clients and to attend networking events. They will be encouraged to participate in associations and conferences to further their network and understanding of the industry. The job does not require overnight travel with the exception of annual training conferences in Pennsylvania.
