Mechatronics Technician
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (on-site)
Type: Full-time, hourly
Reports to: Manufacturing Lead (Production Scheduling and QA Release)
Overview
We are a small, fast-moving team building precision automation equipment for operations in a rapidly growing, highly regulated industry. Our team brings together diverse backgrounds spanning Big Tech, advanced degrees, self-taught engineers, and customer champions – from all around the world. Together, we design and build advanced machines that tightly integrate mechanical systems, electronics, and software into platforms our customers depend on every day.
Because of that, the work we do on the factory floor matters. Every machine that ships carries our reputation with it.
We’re looking for Mechatronics Technicians who take pride in craftsmanship, clean builds, and doing the job right the first time. This is a hands-on build role for people who enjoy working at the intersection of mechanical assembly, wiring, and system checkout.
Internal placement strategy: We will align your strengths to the right station during the interview process, ranging from mechanical build to wiring to system checkout.
What you will do
Mechanical Assembly
- Assemble mechanical modules, frames, and enclosures using work instructions, drawings, and checklists.
- Use proper tools, measurement techniques, and alignment practices to produce consistent, repeatable builds.
- Maintain high workmanship standards and ensure assemblies meet quality expectations before moving to the next station.
Electrical Wiring & Harnessing
- Build and route wiring harnesses with clean labeling and serviceable routing.
- Follow wiring diagrams and documentation to ensure correct connections and professional cable management.
- Maintain clean and organized electrical builds that support long-term reliability and serviceability.
System Verification & Checkout
- Perform pre-power checks including continuity verification, workmanship inspection, and checklist completion.
- Support system-level checkout steps such as alignment, calibration procedures, and functional verification.
- Capture logs or results during testing as required by the release process.
Build Quality & Workmanship
- Take ownership of the quality of work completed at your station.
- Tag issues early and escalate problems rather than performing silent rework.
- Help maintain clean, organized workstations that support consistent build quality.
Build Flow & Kitting Support
- Support kitting discipline by identifying shortages early and flagging incomplete inventory.
- Provide feedback that helps improve kit accuracy and build flow across stations.
- Follow standard work and visual management practices that keep builds predictable and efficient.
Training & Skill Development
- Complete onboarding and station training according to the training plan maintained by the Manufacturing Lead.
- Develop capability across multiple build stations over time.
- Continue building skills across mechanical assembly, wiring, and system verification.
- During the interview process, we’ll align your strengths with the stations where you can contribute most, whether that’s mechanical build, wiring, or system checkout.
Qualifications

Preferred
- Experience working with structured build processes such as Standard Work, checklists, or visual management.
