Role Overview

As an independent contractor, you will provide in-person interpreting services throughout Maine, facilitating communication between English-speaking professionals and individuals with limited English proficiency.

This role primarily involves on-site interpreting assignments within your local area.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and at least one additional language
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Willingness to travel locally for assignments

For healthcare assignments, interpreters may need to provide immunization records including:

• MMR
• Varicella
• COVID-19
• TB test
• Flu vaccination

Previous interpreting experience is a plus, but not required. Training opportunities may be available for qualified candidates.
