Job Overview
The Dairy Operations Intern plays a key role in executing assigned Operations tasks. This includes focusing on advanced process technology, continuous improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a presence on the production floor as a support resource.
- Work with the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager to learn how Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Material Usage Variance (MUV) are calculated.
- Assist with calculations and analyses for OEE and MUV.
- Observe daily operations. Share insights for improving OEE and reducing MUV.
- Analyze process data to identify trends and/or operational inefficiencies. Collaborate with cross-functional team to propose solutions for process improvements and/or cost savings.
- Participate and/or lead Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) to address customer complaints, equipment failures, and operational inefficiencies.
- Support commissioning initiatives for state-of-the-art equipment.
- Provide coordination and technical support for plant trials.
- Assist with the development of training materials (ex: one-point lessons).
- Gain project management experience.
- Conduct safety inspections.
Min. Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, food science, or related scientific field.
- Some experience with project management is preferred, not required.
