With more and more aspects of daily life shifting online, web developers and coders are in higher demand than ever before. Companies everywhere need developers who understand cultural and geographic nuances, and are capable of collaborating across differences. This program will help students develop the technical and intercultural skills needed to succeed in our interconnected, tech-driven world.
The Coding for Data starts on June 1st, 2026 and concludes on August 9th, 2026.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Applications must include your Resume and a 150-200 word essay with your answer to the following question: Imagine it is ten weeks from now and you’ve just finished this program. What is one specific way your professional life or mindset has changed, and why does that matter to you right now?
PROGRAM DETAILS:
- Students from all backgrounds are welcome.
- There are no tests and all work is open-world, just like the real world.
- Lectures are flexible and will take place online.
- You will then attend virtual live discussions, Live Labs, with your classmates and instructor each week.
- Your time commitment: Roughly 10 hours per week over 10 weeks.
Data Wrangling with SQL
Data Wrangling gives you the technical skills and experience you need to succeed in analyzing and communicating findings from relational databases.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
LIVE LABS: (participation required)
- A | Mondays from 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM EST
- B | Mondays from 07:00 PM to 08:30 PM EST
- C | Tuesdays from 07:00 PM to 08:30 PM EST
Accepted participants will be asked to select which Live Lab session they want to attend. You will be expected to attend that Live Lab time through the completion of the program (attendance is taken).
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
In Part 1 of The Experience, you’ll:
- Kickstart your career in data science by learning the #1 data wrangling language: SQL
- Write queries to sort, filter and group data - and learn how to debug errors
- Gain experience with intercultural training used by the UN
- Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with diverse team members
- Receive a SQL Specialist certification and badge for your LinkedIn
Intro to Python for Data
Intro to Python teaches you Python, a beginner-friendly, powerful programming language that has a wide variety of uses.
In Part 2 of The Experience, you’ll:
- Learn the technical skills necessary to succeed in a high-potential data science career
- Learn about Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
- Successfully navigate challenging situations with increased emotional intelligence
- Expertly engage in intercultural communication and collaboration with diverse peers
- Receive a Python Specialist certification and badge for your LinkedIn
