AKT Peerless is seeking a motivated Environmental Intern to join our team in Farmington, MI. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental consulting while working alongside experienced professionals on real-world projects. Interns will gain exposure to multiple service areas and collaborate with different teams to learn how environmental projects move from investigation through remediation.

Job Description

AKT Peerless’ internship training program is designed to kick-start your career in environmental consulting. As an Environmental Intern with AKT Peerless, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of environmental consulting service areas, including but not limited to due diligence, site characterization, building/property decommissioning, site cleanup, remediation design, and system installation.

This is an onsite position based in our Farmington, MI office. Interns will work closely with different teams within the office to gain a broad understanding of our environmental consulting services and operations. This position will report directly to the Regional Manager.

This opportunity will also enable you to participate in fieldwork where you will gain valuable experience. Field activities may include, but are not limited to, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), vapor intrusion investigations, monitoring well installation oversight, and site remediation or cleanup activities.

Requirements:

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related from an accredited university.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification preferred, but not required.
