Outreach Associate
About the Role
As an Outreach Associate, (Contractor 1099 Role) you’ll be the friendly face families trust, working in Chicago laundromats to start conversations, answer questions, and help them apply for critical public benefits like Medicaid and SNAP. You’ll use your people skills to build real relationships and have a direct impact in your community.
This role operates on a flexible shift model. Work is available Friday through Monday, with up to 32 hours per week.

- Connect with Families: Start warm, friendly conversations and build trust in laundromat settings.
- Educate and Assist: Explain public benefit programs, screen for eligibility, and help families with applications in a clear, respectful way.
- Build Community Trust: Be a reliable presence that makes healthcare and resources feel accessible for everyone.

Must-Haves
- Willingness to work in-person in laundromats (no laundry required)
- Reliable transportation to and between laundromat locations
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must work at least 3 shifts per week (16 hours minimum), Friday–Monday only
- Weekend availability is required
- Background checks are conducted as part of the hiring process and/or at any time during contracting.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bilingual (especially in Spanish)
- Familiarity with public benefits or social service programs
