Associate Attorney

Schlotterer Law, PLLC is a civil defense litigation firm, currently comprised of four attorneys. We are excited to grow our firm. Our current need is for an attorney to work directly with Amy Schlotterer, Esq., who maintains a large case docket the majority of which are medical malpractice matters. The successful candidate, will work with Amy assisting her clients. This person will have the opportunity to report to clients, attend client meetings and depositions, write and argue motions and assist in evaluating claims. The position will include the opportunity for both trial preparation and trial appearance.

Duties:

-Review pre-suit claims and medical records

- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs

- Prepare and present evidence in court

- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case management

Experience:

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

- Admission to the Michigan State Bar

- Two to Five years of experience in civil litigation. Trial experience a plus but not required

- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and evidence rules

- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

- Ability to analyze factual and legal issues
